2014 has been a great year at CHAUVET® DJ! We were busy attending trade shows, organizing workshops, and have enjoyed bringing you great new products. We launched new additions to the Freedom and EZ series of wireless fixtures, to the Intimidator line of moving heads, the new GigBAR IRC effect combo fixture that combines 9 effects in 4 lights, the popular Swarm 5 FX, and so much more. We were very honored to receive the MMR’s Dealers Choice Award for Lighting Line of the Year 2014, among other recognitions. It’s easy to assume that the youngest people in a profession should be relegated to being perpetual students, always playing the role of apprentice to their older colleagues. But more often than not it’s the teachers who need to be taught and we all can learn so much from our younger counterparts. Such is the case with 20 year-old Brent Schmidt from Cleveland, Ohio who has packed more DJing and special event lighting into his years than many DJs twice his age. As one of the busy DJs on the roster at Cleveland Music Group, Brent hosts many special events and as a member of the CMG staff, is also called on to design and set up lighting for events as well. Meet DJ Brent!.

True to his name, Machine Gun Kelly starts each concert on his No Class Tour with a scene of searing spine-rattling intensity that leaves his fans, awed, amazed and ready for more. Lighting designer Alex Kay contributes to this unforgettable moment by unleashing a massive volume of illuminated “fire red” fog, courtesy of five Geyser RGB foggers from CHAUVET® DJ.
