I thought to begin this new series with one of the most fundamental tips when working with a fixture: the user manual. It really is one of the best ways to understand how your light operates. Second to that, online sources like blogs and forums can be essential tools.

Read the manual. Really!
Each CHAUVET® DJ light comes with an easy-to-read manual covering all aspects of the light, its uses, recommendations and most importantly, a trouble-shooting guide. As with any manual, it can be a tedious process for some to read a book-length, information-laden copy, but they really work!  With DMX or LED lights, knowledge is power and they are best suited for anyone who wants to know about their lights and operate them correctly. Please don’t pass over this valuable resource as it is well worth a small amount of time to learn more about your lights and what they need to get going.

Go online.
It is also a good idea to get information from blogs and forums where you can learn what other customers recommend. In these online spaces, you can find help or advice offered from people like you, amateur or professional DJs, club owners, lighting technicians for corporate events and houses of worship, and general lighting enthusiasts from all over the globe. These are readily available on the internet or your mobile phone and easily accessed at the touch of a button. Other good sources include our own website, our Facebook and Twitter pages, our YouTube channel and for more updates, our blog and our news section on our website.
