“I am a DJ in Connecticut and use about 20 Chauvet SlimPar 56 wash lights for uplighting events — mainly weddings. I have often thought of going wireless with my uplighting system, however, cost and bulky fixtures was always a factor — most of the wireless lights I saw were bulky and took up twice as much space as my SlimPar wash lights. With limited space to transport gear, the less bulky the fixture, the better.
Finally, after working several gigs where electrical outlets were lacking and set-up times were diminishing, I knew I HAD to go wireless. Once I saw the battery-powered EZpar 64 RGBA and EZrail RGBA lights, I knew I found my wireless system. I purchased two of each to see which design would better suit my needs.
I was anxious to put Chauvet’s ‘rechargeable lithium-ion battery lasts up to 20 hours on a single charge’ claim to the test. I charged the two EZrail RGBA lights overnight to ensure they were fully charged. I unplugged them, fired them up, set them to solid blue and left them on. They lasted about 14 hours on that initial charge which is perfect for me because most of my events are only 5 – 6 hours long. But, knowing something about lithium-ion batteries and their rumored ‘internal memory,’ I fully charged them again and conducted another test. This time, I fired them up, set them to solid amber and left them on. Wow! I am not kidding when I say that on that second charge, those lights stayed on for over 48 hours. Amazing! I could not believe it.
I am very pleased and am working towards replacing my fleet of 20 Slimpar 56 wash lights with 20 EZpar 64 RGBA and a few EZrail RGBA wash lights for my uplighting system. I have always had good luck with Chauvet products —all my uplighting and dance floor lighting is totally comprised of Chauvet lights and controllers. Keep up the good work and thank you so much for making great products!”
